Protecting Patients from Cancer Spread
with Dual-Layer Containment Technology

LapBox® is a tissue containment system used during minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries such as myomectomy and hysterectomy.

It creates a sealed environment inside the body, allowing large tissue to be safely removed through small incisions.

WOMEN'S HEALTH MATTERS

As more hospitals and surgeons adopt advanced containment systems like LapBox®, patients have greater access to minimally invasive options that combine safety with faster recovery.

LapBox® supports this shift by making tissue removal safer and more efficient, without the need for large incisions.

WHAT IS MORCELLATION

During laparoscopic procedures like myomectomy or hysterectomy, large tissue must often be broken down and removed through small incisions.

This process, called morcellation, can carry a risk: if tissue fragments escape into the abdominal cavity, it may lead to the spread of undiagnosed conditions such as cancer or atypical fibroids.

WHY CONTAINMENT MATTERS

Advantages of Minimally Invasive Surgery with LapBox®

Compared to open abdominal surgery, minimally invasive procedures with LapBox® may offer:

+ Same-day hospital release

+ Shorter recovery time

+ Smaller, more discreet scars

+ Lower risk of postoperative infection

+ Less pain following surgery

+ Fewer complications

+ Compatibility with robotic-assisted surgery

A minimally invasive surgical technique is what our patients deserve and what they have come to expect from their gynecologic surgeon. The LapBox Tissue Containment System provides the confidence we need to perform the safest and most efficient tissue removal possible. We must continue to strive for the least invasive surgical approach while keeping our patients safe.
